Rug groomers: With the popularity of shag pile rugs today it is advisable to groom these rugs prior to vacuuming. It enables your vacuum to pick up more dust and debris that would normally find its way to the bottom of the fibres, therefore keeping your rug cleaner and dust free for longer. Grooming also untangles the long fibres (see photos of before and after) and makes the rug look fluffy and new.
Storage wrapping
A great idea for those people who like to rotate their rugs seasonally or yearly or relocating either locally or interstate or even overseas.
Rug underlay should always be used under your rug no matter its value. The benefits to you are:
- Reduces slipping and gathering in rugs
- Minimise ‘rug crawling’ on carpeted areas and avoids creases
- Increase the longevity of the rug by protecting it from foot traffic wear.
- Makes your rug feel thicker and more luxurious
We stock a non-slip double sided adhesive and light adhesive rug underlay for rugs and runners for wall-to-wall carpet and stone floors (marble, clay tiles etc), preventing any movement from under your feet.
Also available is a PVC product to be used under rugs on hard surfaces such as wood or tiled floors.
Make sure your rug is clean, then simply lay rug underlay on a clean dry floor under your rug or mat. Rug underlay can be cut to suit the size of your rug. If rug underlay becomes dirty it’s grip will be reduced. If this happens, just hand wash in warm soapy water, rinse completely in cold clear water and line dry. Do not machine wash, do not tumble dry and do not iron.
It is recommended that your rug be treated with our Woolsafe approved fibre protective coating which protects against water and oil based stains. This product also promotes effective soil release making vacuuming easier therefore keeping your rug cleaner for longer.
